Since its foundation in 1942, Asian Paints has come a long way to become India’s leading and Asia’s fourth largest paint company, with a turnover of Rs. 170.85 billion. We operate in 15 countries and have 27 manufacturing facilities in the world, servicing consumers in over 65 countries.

The company has come a long way since its small beginnings in 1942. It was set up as a partnership firm by four friends who were willing to take on the world's biggest, most famous paint companies operating in India at that time. Over the course of 25 years, Asian Paints became a corporate force and India's leading paints company. Driven by its strong consumer-focus and innovative spirit, the company has been the market leader in paints since 1967. Today, it is double the size of any other paint company in India. Asian Paints manufactures a wide range of paints for decorative and industrial use.

Asian Paints Sri Lanka is a part of the Asian Paints Group, which ranks among the top ten decorative coatings companies in the world. Asian Paints began operations in Sri Lanka in 1999 by acquiring the then famous Delmege Forsyth Paints Ltd. In 2001, Asian Paints launched The Colour World - a revolutionary concept in the retail paint industry with a total of over thousand unique shades along with ready-to-use combinations. Other notable strides made were the introduction of Apex Ultima offering a 7 year performance warranty in 2006. The Royale Luxury Emulsion with "stain resistance (Teflon Technology)" came into being in 2007.In 2009, Asian Paints came out with Royale Play, the special effects paint for interior walls.In 2015, the company introduced the revolutionary Smartcare range of water proofing product. In 2016, Asian Paints introduced Apcolite Premium Emulsion the Best Single Coat Hiding product with HFT Technology (High Film Thickness) which caters to the re-painting segment.
