For rooms that require rest and repose, opt for cooler colours from the blue, green, and lavender. For rooms that are about energy and vitality, such as living rooms, family rooms or home offices, try warm colours from the red, orange and yellow families. For smaller, darker spaces, use light colours to liven them up and create an illusion of space.
What is the difference between colour and tone?
Colour is a phenomenon of light caused by how our eyes detect differing qualities of projected or reflected light. Hue defines the pure colour. The tone is a visual property of the colour. The tone is softer than the original colour as the colour is mixed with white, greys, and black.
Why do colours on my computer screen look different when I print them?
Monitors and printers may be calibrated differently leading to differences in colour. When in doubt, refer to a physical shade card from our outlets, or request a wall swatch.
